Scripture Photo – John 12:35 (link up)

Lord, I cried out to you in my darkness. I was drowning in despair; overcome by my iniquities – lost. By my strength, I started to climb, clawing for purchase, fingers bloodied from my desperate attempts. Sobs wracked me as I slid back into my pit – the stench of sin strong in my nostrils.

Yet, you saw beauty through the veil of love. Deep, unfathomable compassion flowed through you, poured over me, bathed me in light. You took mercy on me, extending your hand of grace. You answered my cries.

You, Most High, amazing Creator, you took the broken pieces which were my life, and made a mosaic so beautiful, so grace filled, so unashamedly yours. I am whole in you. Shattered apart from you.

Keep me here, Father, completely and utterly dependent on you. I love you, Jesus, my Savior, ever present in times of trouble. You are my rock, a mighty fortress. I will praise your name, the name above all names. In your holy and wondrous name, Amen.

n. Simple belief of the scriptures, of the being and perfections of God, and of the existence, character and doctrines of Christ, founded on the testimony of the sacred writers; an entire confidence or trust in God’s character and declarations, and in the character and doctrines of Christ, with an unreserved surrender of the will to his guidance, and dependence on his merits for salvation.

Faith Talking Tuesdays is all about building our faith, developing a closer walk with the Lord, and cultivating a deeper hunger for the things of God. Share scriptures, testimonies, and the things God places on your heart.

Let’s encourage each other to pursue an authentic, lasting passion for Jesus. Posts on marriage or parenting would better fit Thriving Thursdays (see below). This link party focuses more on our personal relationship with the Lord.
