In January, I took one of Margie Lawson‘s online courses, Defeat Self-Defeating Behaviors. Lots of great information and useful things to help you defeat those pesky behaviors. If you’ve never taken her course, you might want to check it out next January.
Her next online course, Empowering Characters’ Emotions, is in March. If it’s possible, I plan on taking that one, too. I know it will help deepen my characters motives and actions a bit.
I seem to have burned out a bit on Midnight Ride and I think it’s because I’ve been moving too slow. I tend to keep editing when I need to buckle down and write to the end. Then I need to come back through and layer in more descriptions, tighten the prose and give the whole thing a polish.
Anyone want to grab a ruler and smack my knuckles if I try to edit before I’m done?
I’ll put a meter over in the sidebar to mark my progress. I think it will help motivate me to get moving on this novel.
Update: I found a fun meter that shows my mood as well as progress lol.
