I Will Not Parent Angry

Please, share me:

“As I sit here in the peace and quiet of the early morning, I reflect on the revelation I had recently. Not a pleasant one, but one I’m thankful to ponder. My revelation? I parent angry. I don’t mean to say I’m angry all the time. Quite the contrary. Our family laughs often. We love, we comfort, we encourage…so what do I mean by parenting angry? Too often my voice, facial expression, and body language convey anger when I correct my children or I’m interrupted.”

Can you relate? This is something that has been on my heart and mind a lot lately. I hope you join me in trying to conquer this area of parenting. Feel free to snag the button and place on your blog as a reminder to overcome angry parenting.

  1. i relate, Audra. your button made me laugh. thanks for your honest comment on my blog–im so thankful that it touched someone, because those posts are hard to write. i enjoy writing, but all i really want is for God to be glorified and to use it to minister to someone. thanks for encouraging others to wake up and change what they regret–we are all lost without Christ and His love and mercy.

    • Audra Marie :

It’s hard to be vulnerable, but that’s where God seems to use us the most. I have the same goal as you with my writing. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. Would love to have you link up. I have six link parties with different themes Monday through Saturday.

  2. Oh, girl! I need to read these! I have an issue with this. I always seem irritated and short, especially when I’m interrupted!

  3. Just yesterday, I realized that I did that too. When they interrupt me or do something that they no they shouldn’t, I snap at them. I’m going to work on this with you!

    • It’s a good thing to work on. I’m still working on it! Too many years of a bad habit, but I believe I’m making progress. :)
