It’s A’Muse’ Me Monday again. Since I’m the mom, I knew we were supposed to do a Haiku today. I didn’t expect to wake up with a Haiku running through my brain forcing me to hop out of bed and go write it down. I ended up with four before i made myself go jump in the shower. I have a feeling there are more lurking in my brain.
I can’t think of a favorite joke, so I’ll just do the Fiction portion for today:
Fiction: Write a haiku. Follow your basic rules: Three lines containing 17 syllables. First line – five syllables, second line – seven syllables and third line – five syllables. It’s usually about nature or feelings and tries to evoke emotion in the reader. Have fun.
Here are my attempts:
Moving Solitude
Down the dusty road
Blows a single tumbleweed.
Moving solitude.
Waves Frolic
Lapping at my feet
Waves splash and frolic about.
Wind blows through my hair.
A Glimpse of Evil
The cat stalks his prey
Tail flicking, hard eyes narrow.
She glimpses evil.
The Contentious Wife
Hand on hip, she points.
My stars! She vexes me so.
Loves eternal bliss.
Another came to mind:
Nursing Baby
My baby suckling
The ebb and flo soothes us both.
God’s perfect design.
I’m entering these in the Haiku Buckaroo Contest (2nd edition) over on the My Mommy’s Place blog. The contest deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST, Friday February 15th. You can enter as many times as you like which is a good thing because I already have five Haikus and I just started this morning. We could all be in trouble by Friday.
Check it out and enter a few of yours, too. I will warn you though, they are addictive.
