Yesterday, I shared about the Strong in Mind, Body, and Spirit Community reboot. In honor of that reboot, I decided to do some challenges to help me kick start all three areas. I figure accountability is a good thing, so I’m sharing these goals with you.
Strong in Mind
I’m going to challenge myself with the Austen in August challenge over on the lost generation reader blog. Plus, I’m going to join my own The “Summer’s Flying By” Reading Challenge which I posted about yesterday. I’ll be choosing a mixture of easy reading, reading to the kids, and books to challenge and grow me.
Strong in Body
I’ve got three challenges I want to
struggle with conquer! I’ll be doing the following from my fitness Pinterest board:
Looks like a full body workout to me. These are 30 day challenges so I’ll use the last day of August to celebrate making it through! I know I can do this because I was working on a plank and push up challenge when the seizures hit. I was advised to stop at the time because we didn’t know what was going on. Now, adding the squat challenge will be. so. good. (OUCH) To help me with these, I created a small chart to cross off as I go.
Strong in Spirit
I’ve been slack on my quiet time of late, so not only will I work on spending that precious time with the Lord each day, but I’ve decided to do three prayer challenges and one sharing my faith challenge to help me build my faith muscles. I did a quick search on Pinterest for 31 days of prayer, and found lots of goodies. Here’s what I chose:
The first one is for me, the second one leads to a prayer list I’m using for my husband, and the third are prayers for my children (and grandchildren even though one is a newborn, and the other is soon to be born). The last challenge is the OTAVEDA (video) challenge issued by Asheritah on the One Thing Alone blog where we are encouraged to share our faith:
I don’t plan on doing this one every day, but I would like to do it several times this month, and that will be a success in my book.
I’ve thrown down quite the gauntlet for myself, but I’m ready. I’m ready to flex some muscles and build some strength in all three of these areas. I’d encourage you to pick one challenge for each area or take it slow and choose one area with one challenge to start. Let me know in the comments what you choose, so I can cheer you on. This is all about getting strong together!
